iD Tech Expands College Prep Program With iFOLIO Digital Platform

The competitive world of student college prep programs often revolves around test prep and grades. These are important, but they’re only two items of the more than 25 criteria that college admissions reviews in applicants. As admissions begin to emphasize more holistic views of applicants and accepts supplemental materials in their online college applications, top students are now submitting digital portfolios. In fact, many college prep programs are looking for digital ways to expand their curriculum.

iD Tech hosts college prep summer programs and e-learning academies for students that are in high school and middle school. Students can attend programs at over 180 colleges like Stanford University and Duke, or they can enroll in an online program. Ricky Bennett, Director of Innovation, is always improving the programs. He liked that iFOLIO’s digital portfolio platform has prebuilt portfolio templates targeting criteria college admissions cares about, shows insights and examples from admissions at Top 100 ranked U.S. colleges and can be personalized by each student. Parents appreciate the view into their student’s talents.

His challenge was figuring out how easy would this be to roll out and what would be needed to engage students.

Programs at Georgia Institute of Technology, the University of Georgia and Stanford University through iD Tech proved that students engage with iFOLIO at a rapid rate.

“We sent out the access codes to iFOLIO with no introduction or instruction. Within 24 hours, some students had already started building their second iFOLIO” – iD Tech.

“My daughter was up till 1 a.m. on the computer. I was shocked to find she wasn’t on Instagram; she was updating her iFOLIO.” Mrs. Fouts, Parent of iFOLIO Student.

iD Tech has contracted for their second license and will make it available in more programs this summer.
